Javadog Gallery 5 Year Anniversary
|
A Five Year Anniversary Show
![]() Ramona Stites has been at work again, creating a new series of painting. Stites is both owner and the featured artist of Javadog Gallery, in our own local Historic Old Town Cottonwood location. The gallery carries more than a dozen local artists to include the work of Ramona’s husband, Richard Stites. The Stites have had the gallery open since 2002. This Show will mark five years for Javadog Gallery.
Ramona’s newest pieces are executed in both oil and pastel. Many of Ramona’s new pieces are landscapes featuring trees. From the cypress, aspen, to juniper the landscapes show clear and vibrant colors and dynamic compositions. Stites is known for her peaceful colorist landscapes that seem to talk to the viewer about the sense and mood of the place she is painting.
Javadog Gallery has had many shows since its first opening in September of 2002 both for Stites and for their stable of artistic talent. As with any successful business Javadog Gallery has also changed and grown.
“We have taken on several new artist this year. We are always looking for unique local talent. Most of our artists are either local to the Sedona-Verde Valley area or have been at some time. We pride ourselves in being a gallery that supports local talent.”
The Javadog Gallery Five Year Anniversary show reception will be on Saturday, October 6th from 4pm to 8pm. “We know the Jerome Art walk is going on that evening and invite those driving up the hill for that event to make Javadog their first stop.” Say Richard Stites.
Javadog Gallery is located at 1023 N. Main Street in Old Town Cottonwood right next to the Old Town Café. For more information about Ramona’s work and the artists of Javadog Gallery go to www.javadoggallery.com or call 634-5217.
