Juan Carlos Breceda
Applying rough brush strokes of contrasting colors, discarding depth or perspective, Juan Carlos Breceda creates simple forms filled with energy. Women and animals are the central theme in his work. A woman is repeated: her enormous eyes, steady gaze and harsh features, do not diminish her softness or sensuality. His animals: the rooster, the bird, and the cat convey simplicity in a real and sometimes magical world.
Juan Carlos was born in Rosario, Sinaloa, Mexico in 1955. He studied at the National School of Painting, Sculpture and Carving, La Esmeralda, and furthered his studies in the Popular School of Fine Arts in Morelia, Michoacan.
Juan Carlos has been the recipient of many national prizes, including the 1997 National Contest of Drawing and Painting at the National Auditorium Gallery, Mexico City, Mexico. Breceda has exhibited in the U.S., South America, and Europe. His style is contemporary and is well received by interior designers and art galleries.

Izabela Rostkowska
Izabela Rostkowska was born in Poland. She has lived in Mexico since 1980 where she has discovered a different world full of color and surrealism. She attended the prestigious school of Art of La Esmeralda.
She works mainly with acrylic and texture on canvas and on paper. Her work is very colorful and vivid, where she creates her own characters without limitations or obstacles. Her main theme is women, their expressions, feelings and their interiors.  And not only woman’s interior, but she includes all interiors surrounding us, spaces where we live and love, create and dream.
Izabela participates in numerous exhibitions in Poland, Mexico, and the United States.

When the exhibition closes in May, Mountain Shadow Gallery will continue to represent the artists’ work. The Gallery is located at 3001 E. Skyline Drive, Suite 109, on the NE corner of Skyline and Campbell, and is open 7 days a week: Monday thru Saturday from 10 AM to 6 PM; Sunday 11 AM to 5 PM.
