“By carefully researching and selecting traditional materials and paintmaking methods, I can offer the modern day painter pure colors containing more pigment than any other brand and absolutely no artificial extenders or fillers,” says paintmaker Stephen Salek. In fact, he still, after more than a decade, handcrafts his paint in small batches and then intentionally hand-fills every tube. Each pigment (or color) has its own character and advantages that a painter should be allowed to appreciate and control. Using old world, traditional methods of manufacturing makes this possible. The extraordinary amount of time and effort required to work with genuine pigments, such as the natural earths, bone black, and genuine naples yellow, further demonstrates the commitment Vasari Classic Artists' Oil Colors makes to bringing the best materials to the art of painting.
