Tucson, AZ—Mountain Shadow Gallery is pleased to present new works by Claire-Lise Matthey Anderegg. The new works will be on view during the month of November 2008. There will be a reception for the artist on Thursday, November 13, 2008 from 5pm to 7pm. The artist will be attending the reception.

Claire-Lise's paintings reflect her fascination with color, texture, antiquity and personal symbols. Her paintings express a deep intimacy with life, dreams, beauty, and mysteries. Throughout the process of painting, she lets her imagination and intuition be the guide. The work develops slowly through multitude layers of colors placed one upon another, resulting in a feeling of depth and complexity.
In describing her own work, the artist states, "Every creation is a sort of intimate battle, paved with experimentation, transformation, discovery, struggle, joy, excitement and surprise. Painting is my quest, my journey, and my adventure. With each piece created, a new facet of the puzzle is revealed and my personal universe enriched". Being attracted to ancient civilization, oriental art and their philosophies; the Artist's work reflects and brings those images to the surface.
Claire-Lise was born and raised in Switzerland, where she studied art in Lausanne, at Ceruleum School of Art and at Atelier Martenot in Espesse. She moved to the US in 1989 and currently resides in San Diego.
Mountain Shadow Gallery is located at 3001 E. Skyline Drive, Suite 109, on the NE corner of Skyline and Campbell, and is open 7 days a week: Monday thru Saturday from 10 AM to 6 PM; Sunday 11 AM to 5 PM.
